A Rich History of Wildlife Conservation

Founded in 1955 by Alexander Lindsay, the Lindsay Wildlife Experience has a storied history of connecting people with wildlife. It began as a small museum in a garage and has grown into a 28,000-square-foot facility that houses a wildlife rehabilitation hospital, educational exhibits, and numerous animal ambassadors. The center treats over 5,000 wild animal patients each year, making it one of the largest wildlife hospitals in the world

What You Can Expect at Lindsay Wildlife

Educational Exhibits and Programs:

The museum features interactive exhibits such as "Behind the Scenes Wildlife Hospital," where visitors can watch live veterinary procedures, and "Raptors," which allows you to virtually soar over Mount Diablo and compare your arm span to the wingspans of various birds of prey

Animal Encounters:

With over 70 animal ambassadors, including birds, mammals, reptiles, and invertebrates, the Lindsay Wildlife Experience offers close encounters that are both thrilling and educational. Each animal has a story, often involving rehabilitation from injuries that prevent them from returning to the wild

The center offers daily programs that provide deeper insights into wildlife care and conservation. From public programs in the Raptor Redwood Grove to special events and workshops, there is always something happening at Lindsay
