Is this even a good time to sell my house?

If you’re asking this question, you’re not alone.
Most sellers aren’t worried about selling — they’re worried about selling at the wrong time.

That concern usually comes from headlines, market noise, and uncertainty — not from what’s actually happening locally.

Headlines vs. reality

Most real estate headlines talk about national trends.
Real estate, however, is a local business.

What’s happening nationally often has very little to do with supply and demand in specific areas like Lamorinda, where schools, community, and lifestyle continue to drive buyer activity.

Part of my job is to help sellers separate noise from reality — and understand what actually applies to their home and their neighborhood.

That’s why I always look at value in today’s context, not past sales:
My neighbor sold for X — what does that mean for my home’s value now?

About interest rates

Rates come up in almost every conversation.
Sellers often assume high rates mean no buyers.

In practice, that’s not how it works.

Many East Bay buyers pay all cash. Others finance differently based on their own situation. Even when rates were significantly higher in recent years, buyers were still buying.

Sellers don’t need to manage a buyer’s financing or personal circumstances.
That’s not the seller’s role.

What sellers can control

What does matter is what you can control:

  • the condition of the home

  • how it’s presented

  • how it’s priced

  • how it’s positioned

Our goal is simple:
to get the most qualified buyers through the door and create the strongest possible outcome.

That focus is far more productive than reacting to daily market news.

Why talking to a practitioner matters

There will always be headlines.
No one can predict the market.

What I can do is share what I see every day — how buyers are behaving, what’s slowing deals down, and what’s still working.

That real-time perspective helps sellers make decisions based on facts, not fear.

What I know to be true

Bay Area demand remains strong, especially in communities like Lamorinda with excellent schools and a strong sense of place.

Buyers are always looking.
Well-prepared, well-positioned homes continue to sell.

The strategy matters more than the headlines.
